The Village Square shopping precinct sits in the heart of Bramhall Village. The centre has poor active frontage with the surrounding streets (Bramhall Lane South & Ack Lane East), with the Bramhall Lane South entrance being dominated and concealed by the large Natwest building.
Our ‘BIG idea’ proposal is to remove the Natwest building and the adjacent retail unit (currently let to two hairdressers and a natural health clinic), to give the opportunity to create a large public square, containing new contemporary units and a new frontage to the shopping centre.
The re-orientated units of the Village Square centre (now facing outwards), have improved interaction with the streetscape, with the new contemporary units providing enhanced architectural interest, complementing the adjacent historic Methodist church.
A larger and more efficient customer car park provided to the rear of shopping centre and the church, with a clearly marked route through to the retail units.
